Da Qing Ye

 

Also Known As:
American Indigo, Baptista Tinctoria, False Indigo, Horsefly Weed, Indigo Broom, Rattlebush, Yellow Broom, Yellow Indigo. Baptista tinctoria.
Family: Leguminosae or Fabaceae.

 

 

 

Da Qing Ye            Properties: BITTER  - COLD                                  Dosage: 9 – 30g.

Woad Leaf (Indigo)               Meridian: HEART, LUNG STOMACH

                            -clear heat, relieve toxicity – contagious febrile disease outbreak

                        -cools blood, reduce blotches – skin eruptions, intense fever, irritability

Topically, Da Qing Ye / Wild Indigo is used for painless ulcers, inflamed nipples, and as a douche for leukorrhea.
Historically, Da Qing Ye / Wild Indigo has been used as an oral tea for fever, scarlet fever, typhoid, and pharyngitis in North America. It has been used topically for cleaning open and inflamed wounds.
