Also Known As:
Reed.
Phragmites communis.

Lu Gen           Properties: SWEET  - COLD                                         Dosage:15 – 30g.

Reed Rhizome          Meridian: LUNG, STOMACH                                  USED ALONE – 60g.

                  -clear heat, generate fluids – high fever, irritability, thirst

                  -clear lung heat – cough, thick-yellow sputum

                  -clear stomach heat – vomiting, belching

                  -clear heat, diuretic  – dark-scanty urine, xue lin, accompanied by thirst

                  -encourages rash’s to surface

Also Used For:

Orally, Lu Gen/Reed herb is used for digestive disorders.
Topically, Lu Gen/Reed herb is used to relieve insect bites.
Also In Chinese Medicine, Lu Gen/Reed herb is used for diabetes, leukemia, and breast cancer.
