Sang Ye (folium mori albae)…9g
Shi Gao (gypsum)…7.5g
Mai Men Dong (tuber ophiopogonis japonici)…3.6g
E Jiao (gelatinum corii asini)…2.4g [dissolve in strained decoction]
Hei Zhi Ma (semen sesami indici)…3g
Xing Ren (semen pruni armeniacae)…2.1g
Mi Zhi Pi Pa Ye (honey fried folium eriobotryae japonicae)…3g
Ren Shen (radix ginseng)…2.1g
Gan Cao (radix glycyrrhizae uralensis)…3g
Indications: dry hacking cough, wheezing, dry parched throat and nose, headache, fever, chest fullness, thirst, irritability, T- dry with no coat, P- deficient big rapid.
Warm dryness attacking the Lungs causing rebel Qi. Usually brought on by environmental factors, i.e. dry indoors, fall season, dry warm weather. This formula is stronger than Sang Xing Tang (which is more for superficial conditions) and works better on strong dry pathogenic influences.
