Hey All, some help is needed please !
I am treating a 60 year old female with acupuncture and having minimal results and would like some Chinese Formula suggestions.
Western Diagnosis: Fibromyalgia, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Spastic Bladder (burning, cramping, frequent but unable to urinate), Emphysema, insomnina
Chinese Medicine Patterns: Liver Depression with depressive heat, damp heat in the Lower Jiao, Phlegm, Spleen Qi deficiency, Blood stagnation, Blood deficiency, Wind
I have given her Yue Ju Wan in concentrated powder which aggravated most symptoms but mainly gave her nausea (even in minute doses). Bao He Wan helps digestive complaints for acute periods.
What Herbal formulas do you all suggest? she is a very complicated patient with many many symptoms.
Thanks in advance

Hello, I am sending out this post in hopes that it may benefit you, or your patients living in and around NYC. There is a study that just started which is funded by the NIH and being held at Columbia University School of Nursing, in NYC. The study is a controlled clinical trial that is testing Acupuncture to reduce the frequency of nausea symptoms in persons living with HIV/AIDS. If you know of anybody who can benefit from these free treatments (there is also compensation) please spread the news to them.
All treatments are given by licensed acupuncturist and are held in a clinical setting at Columbia. There is also compensation for the treatments the patients come to. Please, if you know of anybody whether patients, family, or friends who may be interested in this study, do not hesitate to get in touch with me. There is an increased need for research to expand past only western modalities. We need the practitioners, patients and the community to help bridge this gap. Unfortunately you can only go so far into “proving” what works when dealing with the energy systems of the body, so pressure is on us to ascertain proper and positive results. Thank you so much for your time. If you have any questions +/or need more information please contact me at sam2113@columbia.edu
