Words from a Nigerian Herbalist…

by @ 11:03 am. Filed under General, Medicinals & Herbs

I believe that everyone is unique; everyone has a special set of talents, and skills. Everyone in some unique way is here to make a difference on our planet - Earth. This is what I believe. My vision & mission is that I should not just exist as human being. I need to make my mark towards the success of global health care delivery.
I recall learning about, a famous & prolific herbalist. The legend says that he was the worlds first Herbalist in China. He was a Chinese mythological Emperor, late Shen Nung (3400B.D.) He made immense contribution to the development of Herbalism in China. There was another great Herbalist in Africa, the late Chief Dr. J.O Lambo
(a.k.a The Guru traditional Medicine). He was the first permanent secretary and the first President of Board of traditional Herbal medicine in Africa. He made many efforts to sustained Herbal medicine in Africa. He won the battle in discussions between the Orthodox and Herbal medicine in California in 1947. He made his efforts to make the herbal medicine to become the toast of people in Africa and world generally.Another famous person associated with herbalism is Dr. John .R. Christopher. He’s an American citizen that has written many books and promoted herbal medicine in U.S. They all do their best to sustain research and develop a qualitative & curative herbal medicine and bring back life into humanity. Although, many of these people are no longer living they left a great mark behind. What will people say about me when I am gone? I want them to say that Imade a difference in the health of people. Making a public awareness in pages of papers is not enough for in development of herbal medicine in Africa. Much more needs to be done!! We need to organize seminars, to establish school of Natural Healing and teach people how to make a herbal medicine to pass on the traditions of our forefathers. I want to see a non-governmental organization that will be responsible free treatment for those who need it. My Mission is to take Herbal Medicine to greater heights than ever before. To have more exposure and have a professional certificate in area of herbs and health. I would like to be respected among my peers and fellow herbalists throughout the world. Although, I have a busy schedule here in Nigeria,
I still manage to have time for relaxation. My current goal is to move with those in western Wolrd to exch ange idea togetehr so we can put an end to the problem confronting our people in our locality and aslo to promote herbal medicine that I endowed from my grandfather. I feel that this will be a great benefit to fellow human beings. The world needs to know the benefits of our gifts from nature (Herbs
and Roots). Many do not need drugs they need nutrients from our soils. They need nutrients that are free from pollutants and toxins too.We all need to stand together – as in the phrase “all hands on deck”.I believe that I can achieve this goal if I can access available moral advice, spiritual support and financial assistance. The opportunity that I have is what I am using to taking healing to the doorstep of humanity in my community. But, if I am opportunity to have
international exposure and certificate I think that I still perform more than that. It will fasten more research, develop qualitative and curative Herbal Medicine &bring back life into humanity. I intend to contribute my quota to the success of Global Health Care Delivery. I am desperately to mingle with Africans Herbal Medicine Practitioners with other parts of Globe Herbalists. There must be round table between there Herbalists in regards of colors, culture, wealth, religion and age. All hands need to be on deck to check the problem of AIDS/HIV in every parts of the world.
